Meet your doula!
Hi, I’m Mandy Harvey! I am a certified christian doula based in Hagerstown, MD and the owner of Blooming Births Doula Care! For as long as I can remember I have always felt a calling and joy towards working alongside mothers and babies. I was unsure of what path I wanted to take until the Lord laid it on my heart to become a doula and start a ministry where I can serve and walk with women through motherhood. Now, through this ministry and business He has made my heart so full and shown me that there is so much joy, peace, and fulfillment in surrendering desires, anxiety, and fear at the foot of the cross.
My hearts desire and motivation is to love each mom and baby through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum while being a calm and reassuring voice during challenging days and seasons. I believe that a mother knows herself and her baby the best and it is my mission to ensure that every mothers voice and decisions are hear and honored.
Outside of birth work, I love spending time with my husband, family, and friends, being outdoors, going for walks, reading, and enjoying a good cup of tea.
My Philosophy
My philosophy is that every mother deserves to feel seen, heard, safe, and respected throughout her birth experience. I believe child birth is a beautiful gift from God, meant to be celebrated rather than feared. I strive to reflect biblical foundations of love, compassion, grace, and service in the support I provide. My role as a doula is to honor each mother’s individual wishes, advocate for her preferences, and ensure that her voice remains at the heart of her birth experience.
