What is a TENS unit?
Also known as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation sends electric impulses through adhesive pads placed on the skin.
What are the benefits of a TENS unit?
TENS units are used to relieve pain and are often used in place of medications and epidurals.
Is the TENS unit safe to use?
Yes! It is absolutely safe to use during labor and intense contractions. TENS units are used quite frequently during labor.

Why do I need a birth plan?
A birth plan is used for doctors, nurses, midwives, and any medical staff to refer to and to understand your personal needs/wants during labor and delivery.
Why do I need childbirth education?
Childbirth is to help mom and dad to understand what childbirth looks like and give them confidence and reassurance. it is geared towards and highly recommended for first time parents who have questions or uncertainty about birth.

Perineal Steam Treatment
What is a perineal steam treatment?
A perineal steam treatment is used for moms during postpartum to help with swelling and bruising of the vagina, cleanse the uterus, and heal tearing and stitching.
How does the treatment work?
a remedy of herbs are brewed in boiling water and set beneath an enclosed stool with a hole cut into the top. Mom will be instructed to sit over top of the hole and let the steam rise to cleanse the vagina/uterus for about 20-30 minutes.
